All classes and workshops this session take place at the Glebe Neighbourhood Activities Group (GNAG) located at 175 Third Avenue in the Glebe Community Centre. Register through the Amilia platform using the links below. You will need to have an Amilia account created to register. Make sure your profile and payment info is up to date to ensure a smooth checkout.​

Get ready for a tropical-inspired dance party as we shimmy and groove to Latin and Caribbean rhythms! Think salsa, reggaetón, merengue, soca, samba, Brazilian funk, Afro-Latin, and more! This is the perfect class for those who love variety.
See the schedule above (download here) for our weekly themes! In “All About” classes, we’re diving into the diverse rhythms from a particular country! For the other classes, warmups will include a mix of styles, and our routine will be the style on the schedule.
If you’re new to the Dance with Emilie community and wondering where to start, this class is a great choice!​ No dance experience needed. Our step-by-step approach helps everyone have a blast, from first timers to experienced dancers. ​

Our most popular class and such a great way to start your week! Get ready to groove and rewind with some of the most iconic artists and dance hits from the 70's, 80’s, 90’s, and early 2000’s.

In “All About” classes, we’re dancing to the best hits from this artist for our warmup and routine! “Biggest Hits” classes are full of throwbacks from that decade! For other classes, warmups include a mix of artists and our routine is the song listed on the schedule.

This all-levels class is open to everyone, regardless of dance experience. This is one fun dance party, so bring your friends!

Hip Hop Royalty - All Levels

Expect big vibes, dope beats, and a whole lot of fun! We’ll be dancing to the hottest tracks from some of hip hop’s biggest icons. Learn dynamic moves, fresh choreography, and how to own the dance floor with confidence. This class is all about channeling your love for hip hop while having a blast!

Street Dance - Intermediate/Advanced

Want to take your dance skills to the next level? This is our most advanced class for those looking to push their technique even further and learn challenging choreography in a supportive environment. Get ready for a mix of rhythms and movements from a variety of street dance styles. This class encourages dancers to build their unique personal style and push their potential to the max!

Dancers are expected to practice the routine at home every week and to catch up outside of class time with the help of a buddy if absent. Minimum of two years of dance experience. If you’re unsure whether this class would be a good fit for your skill level, contact Emilie before registering.

As this is a progressive class where we build on the same routine every week, registration is required for the full session. Drop-ins to try out the class are possible during the first three weeks.
Sass/Heels - All Levels

We explore a variety of styles that range from sultry R&B to feisty jazz funk and pop, grooving to artists like Ciara, Ya Levis, Beyoncé, Kehlani, Kylie Minogue, Tate McRae, kwn, and more! Compared to our other classes, movements are generally softer and all about the flow. You’ll learn two routines during the session—each with a different vibe!

Most dancers go barefoot, but you’re welcome to wear dance heels!

In this class, you'll learn a mix of powerful moves and fresh choreography set to the best Dancehall tracks. This is one of our most popular classes for a reason! You’ll learn two routines during the session—each with a different vibe!

Whether you're a beginner or an experienced dancer, this class offers options to suit all skill levels, ensuring everyone feels comfortable and amazing on the dance floor!

Reggaetón - All Levels

Dancers, I've heard your requests... más reggaetón! From the clubs of Medellín to the streets of San Juan, reggaetón is the hugely popular, pulsing rhythm you hear just about everywhere, from artists like Bad Bunny, Karol G, J Balvin, Don Omar, Nicky Jam, Beéle, and so many more. Plus, we'll be mixing in a bit of cubatón and salsatón for some extra spice! You’ll learn two routines during the session—each with a different vibe!
This class will emphasize hard-hitting moves and body isolations that will challenge you and bring that sazón to your dance vibes! Emilie started the first reggaetón class in Ottawa 20 years ago, and it’s still one of her favourite classes to teach.

Afro Fusion - All Levels

Back by popular demand. This SOLD OUT workshop in the Fall Session was a huge hit, so register early! Afro-inspired music and dance fusions are taking the world by storm! This exciting workshop is designed to explore the vibrant and diverse blends of Afro styles with other genres. We’ll groove to Afrobeats, Afro-Latin, Afro House, Afro-Brazilian, Afro-Cuban, and so much more! Get ready for the high-energy movements, infectious rhythms, and cultural richness behind these hot beats.
This is an all-levels workshop where options will be given so everyone from beginners to experienced dancers are challenged and have a blast!
Bad Bunny - Intermediate

Our biggest workshop so far this year, so we had to bring it back! Get ready to dial it in and nail the choreography from his incredible Super Bowl halftime show in this intermediate-level workshop.
Bad Bunny is at the top of the music world! This workshop will showcase his unapologetically bold style and genre-blending sound, from reggaetón to urban salsa, Latin trap, dembow, and beyond. Get ready for dynamic choreography that hits all these musical styles set to his biggest tracks!

NEW: this workshop will be 120 minutes, with more time to feel confident and fierce with the routine (and extra time to film some fun videos at the end)!​ Minimum two years of dance experience is recommended.
Street Styles 101 - All Levels

Emilie always gets asked the difference between the styles she teaches... dancehall, reggaetón, house, Brazilian funk, hip hop, Afrobeats, urban salsa, and more. Here's your chance to get a taste of what makes each of these styles unique, all in one workshop! We'll break down the basics and learn some signature moves from Emilie's favourite street styles. Whether you've been dancing for years or are simply curious, you're gonna sweat, smile, and come away with new skills and appreciation for these diverse rhythms!
This is the perfect opportunity to bring along a friend who has been wanting more dance in their life and isn't sure where to start! This is an all-levels workshop where options will be given so everyone from beginners to experienced dancers are challenged and have a blast.
